The BERGER group of companies, established in 1905, is now one of the large medium-sized companies in the European construction industry. Our success story is the story of a clear, consistently developed and applied integrated management system.
With the growth in the European single market and the opening and integration of Eastern Europe, quality and environmental criteria which meet international standards have become essential. In the 1990s we therefore made the decision to develop our quality assurance measures and to view quality management as an important management task – with the stated goal of strengthening and expanding our position in the competitive national and international markets.
Overview of management systems and certifications
Quality management | EN ISO 9001 |
Environmental management | EN ISO 14001 |
Energy management | EN ISO 50001 |
Energy audit | EN 16247 |
Health and safety management | EN ISO 45001 |
All the important business divisions are now covered by a quality management system certified under DIN EN ISO 9001. In addition, our certification system for environmental management in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 and our health and safety management as specified in EN ISO 45001 makes it clear that we are conscious of our responsibilities towards our customers, our employees and, last but not least, the public in general, and that we take them seriously.
In 2015 a central energy management system which is audited and certified under DIN 16247 was introduced across the company. You can find out about the energy saving projects which we have already implemented here...
In addition to this the business areas have numerous special approvals and qualifications such as, for example, BERGER Bau, BERGER Grundbautechnik and BERGER Netzbau with the pre-qualification as per para. 6 VOB/A (German Construction Tendering and Contract Regulations, part A).
BERGER GROUP company policy
The aim and object of our integrated management system is to guarantee our customers top-quality building and building material services while at the same time respecting the environment. We want to encourage our employees to take a responsible quality, environmental and especially safety-aware production route through organisational error avoidance and motivational working methods.
In relation to the environmental policy integrated in our company policy, please note that BERGER classifies both the avoidance of environmental risks (DIN EN ISO 14001) and the conservation of resources (DIN EN ISO 50001/DIN EN 16247) under the overall term "environment".
The management of all the companies within the BERGER GROUP commit themselves and all their employees to accept and follow the following guidelines for quality, environmental and health and safety policies:
1.
Every individual is responsible for the results of their work and must contribute through their conduct to the continuous improvement of our services and therefore our success.
2
Everyone must be dedicated to quality and environmentally-aware production and services and to the health and safety of our employees. The successful implementation of this is a task for all levels of organisation in all the companies of the BERGER GROUP.
3.
All the companies in the BERGER GROUP commit fully to complying with laws, regulations and other official requirements. This obligation is binding for all members of staff at all levels of the various production and service processes.
4.
The primary goal is to satisfy all external and internal customers while ensuring the greatest possible profitability in the individual production phases. Quality management is therefore our most important task in the service of our customers. The satisfied customer is the benchmark of our quality.
5.
Insights arising from planning, production, processing and the use of products and services must be the starting point for a continuous improvement in organisation (QM) as well as in environmental protection and health and safety.
6.
Our quality assurance rule is: "Get it right first time!"
Which means that the quality of a product does not need to be tested, but must be created in every single preceding process.
7.
Enquiries and complaints from our customers must be dealt with quickly and thoroughly, problems analysed and their causes eliminated. We view ongoing communication with our customers as an obligation in the collaborative partnership.
8.
Our pursuit of the greatest possible sustainability relies on unfailing avoidance of environmental risks and the greatest possible conservation of resources for an active environmental management. We also expect our suppliers and subcontractors to share this view.
9.
Our quality, environmental and safety demands also rely in particular on efficient, high-quality subcontractor services based on a safe and error-free supply and production service. This is why we view our suppliers and subcontractors as "part of the whole" and we undertake to incorporate them fully in all relevant quality, environmental and health and safety aspects.
10.
The health and safety of our employees, our subcontractors, our customers and the general public is of major concern to us. Thanks to our organisation aimed at health and safety, we are in a position to ensure the best possible results for all stakeholders.
11.
We oppose all forms of physical, psychological and verbal abuse. We respect the dignity of all people and support the observance of internationally recognised human rights.
The guidelines for quality, environmental and health and safety policies as well as the procedures laid down in the relevant management systems are binding for all employees in the BERGER GROUP.
